Is Nuclear Physicist Worth It?
No, Most Enemies Are Immune to Radiation
Nuclear Physicist buffs out radiation damage for your weapons, however, most enemies in the game are immune to radiation, such as ghouls, super mutants, and robots, so this perk is not worth picking up.
Perhaps the only useful advantage of this perk is that it prolongs the duration of Fusion Cores, letting you use Power Armors for an extended period of time.

| Rank 2 | 14 | Radiation weapons now do double damage and Fusion Cores last an extra 50 percent longer. |
| Rank 3 | 26 | Fusion Cores can be ejected from Power Armor like devastating grenades, and Fusion Cores last twice as long. |
How to Get Nuclear Physicist
Unlock Nuclear Physicist at Intelligence 9
 Nuclear Physicist is on Intelligence Level 9 |
The Nuclear Physicist perk is unlocked when your Intelligence is at Level 9. You can start at this level by assigning 9 points to Intelligence during the Registration Form at the start of the game. Otherwise, you can get to this level by collecting SPECIAL magazines or bobbleheads and spending perk points upon level up.
After getting to Intelligence 9, you're free to spend perk points on ranking up the skill, as long as you are at the required character level to rank up.
