How to Unlock Sage Against the Machine

Complete Main Mission A Lot to Process

Borderlands 4 - Sage Against the Machine Side Mission Location

To start Sage Against the Machine, you must have finished the main mission A Lot to Process.

Once finished, talk to Brody Sattva by a stand at Stoneblood Forest in the Terminus Range region.

Undergo Brody Sattva's Coaching

1 Talk to Brody Sattva at his stand and take the mood rock.

Borderlands 4 - Path of Opportunities
Find the Path of Opportunities marked on the map, located at Crueltown. There, under Brody Sattva’s instruction, cultivate awareness of rippers by killing them.

Borderlands 4 - Stones of Balance Highest Point
After killing the psychos, go to the Stones of Balance at the marked location. Reach the highest point by climbing the houses up until the platform on the peak.
4 Place the mood rock on the stone. After listening to Brody Sattva, pick it up again.

Borderlands 4 - Den of Acceptance
Glide over to the Den of Acceptance and approach Ricky, your negative self. You have two options: talk to your negative self or smack them. Either option will eventually cause Ricky to go hostile, forcing you to kill him. Kill the rest of the enemies in the area.
6 Return to Brody at his stand. Put down the mood rock and turn it over.

Borderlands 4 - Loot Chest Reward
Loot your reward from the chest.
8 Shortly after, Wayward Soul will arrive and kill Brody Sattva. After his dialogue, the mission will end.

Loot the Chest Bug

A bug may occur where, after returning to Brody Sattva's stand to claim your loot, the chest is absent. To resolve this issue, reload the game and you will see the small chest on top of the larger one.
