Amon's Crucible build makes use of the Cybernetics tree to stack powerful bonuses to Gun and Critical Hit damage. Its Crucible's Frost Axe easily freezes enemies and sets up devastating Critical Hits.
This setup emphasizes a smooth chain of Action Skill and Weapon usage, with short cooldowns and multiple charges that allow you to keep up constant pressure.

The best skills for the Crucible build focus on enhancing Gun and Critical Hit damage, significantly increasing your burst damage potential. You also need the good Reload Speed boosts from Battleborn. It also later utilizes the Forgedrone Tempered Pyre summons to fight with you.
From the Vengeance tree, The Thrill provides valuable HP sustain for survivability, while Wrath of Nature status effect boosts also help later on. In the Calamity tree, Impetus and Heavy Plate offer reliable Shield regen and HP. Gut Punch rounds out the tree by applying Weakness debuffs to enemies.
Start by stacking Get the Lead Out and Executioner for crit damage and reload speed. Push down the tree to unlock Searing Cold Augment at level 16, then switch to Vengeance for The Thrill HP regen.
In Cybernetics (second branch), max Blast Furnace and Lightning Rod for burst damage, then grab the Storm Surge Capstone. Max the first two passives, invest in Impetus, and finish with Gut Punch for weakness debuffs.
Once you unlock Tempered Pyre Forgedrones, they’ll apply Gut Punch’s weakness automatically, boosting your damage further.

(Branch 3) |

Searing Cold is one of Amon's strongest abilities, allowing the Frost Axe to instantly Freeze most enemies. While tougher bosses are only slowed instead of fully Frozen, this still provides excellent crowd control. The Fire Axe, on the other hand, excels against red health enemies.
Using each axe in the right situation highlights the versatility of the Crucible build, especially since both variants deal high damage on impact and help Prime powerful Detonations.

Storm Surge is an upgraded Forgeskill that deals Shock instead of Cryo and creates an AoE that constantly damages enemies. It’s highly effective for wearing down boss shields and detonating any Forge Axes attached to targets.

Hellwalker
|
Type: Shotgun Manufacturer: Jakobs Soothslayer Legendary Mod |
Hot Slugger
|
Type: Shotgun Manufacturer: Jakobs Blazing Barrel: On kill, deal +30% Damage for 10s for a Maximum 3 Stacks |
The Hellwalker is the best Legendary Weapon for this build thanks to its massive base damage and devastating close-range crits. The Hot Slugger is a solid alternative, offering slightly better range and a strong damage boost through its Kill Skill.
Both weapons fire a single shot only before reloading at high speed, consistently triggering the Bolt Action passive for bonus Shock damage.
Jakobs weapons excel with the Crucible build’s focus on critical hits, as their ricochet mechanic deals massive damage to hordes. With the Calamity Tree’s crit and gun damage buffs, along with Jakobs’ fast reloads.
This build works best with shotguns, since you’ll be fighting up close and can reliably land most pellets as a crit. Single-shot Jakobs variants are especially strong, as they easily trigger the Bolt Action reload passive for bonus Shock damage.

The Viking Legendary Class Mod is a top choice, granting 2 extra Action Skill charges for a total of 5 axes to throw.
Alternatively, generic Class Mods that boost Cybernetics tree passives, crit damage, or direct gun damage are also powerful and versatile.
| Enhancement | Effects |
|---|---|
| Jakobs Enhancement |
・Piercer - Guns with Jakobs-licensed parts have a 20% Chance to grant a Critical Hit. ・Sequencer - Guns with Jakobs-licensed parts grant consecutive Critical Hits a stacking +5% Bonus Damage, for a Maximum of 8 Stacks. |
Equipping a Jakobs Enhancement with either Piercer or Sequencer would be best for this build, but obtaining a Legendary Enhancement with both will provide more DPS.
We recommend Piercer for Critical Hit chances, while Sequencer stacks up your damage the more crits you hit in a row, which is highly effective against high HP bosses.

This Firmware loadout goes all in on boosting the melee damage of your axes.
Frost Axes can freeze most enemies in a single hit. Use them on Badasses for crowd control and to set up Primers for massive Detonation damage with your Forgeskill.
Frozen targets are ideal for lining up critical hits, letting you burst them down before they can deal any damage.
If using this build for leveling, almost any gun works since it boosts gun and critical hit damage universally in the early game. Jakobs weapons remain the best choice thanks to their strong synergy with critical hits.
While the Crucible build is good for leveling, our Amon Scourge Build is also terrific for leveling with its tankiness and Action Skill Cryo damage!
The Amon Crucible build focuses on using the Frost Forge Axe to freeze enemies, then following up with heavy crit damage from a Jakobs shotgun. Moreover, critical bullets ricochet to nearby foes.
It is highly versatile, combining Frost, Fire, and Shock Action Skills with strong Kinetic damage from guns.

The Amon Crucible build excels in close range combat, freezing any fast-moving or tanky enemy to line up a burst of critical hit damage point-blank. Further utilizes Forge Axes to capitalize on more critical hit opportunities.

Why the crap would you make this page about this build but not mention what firmware to get or specializations to choose, this is unusable for endgame, and no where do you state that this is just a leveling build.
