When Do You Get a Vehicle?

Finish the Down and Outbound Quest Line

Meet Conway Quest
You’ll unlock vehicles after completing the third main mission in the story, Down and Outbound. When you reach the Meet Conway quest, you’ll gain access to your very first ride.

Down and Outbound Walkthrough

Unlock the Digirunner from Conway

Meet Conway
After assisting the Outbounders, you’ll meet Conway, who rewards you with the Digirunner as thanks for your help. This becomes your starter vehicle and the foundation for your later upgrades.

Spawn the Digirunner Anytime

Summon Vehicle Controls
PS5
Press PNG - Dpad Right.png to summon the Digirunner
Xbox
Press XBOX - DPAD Right.png to summon the Digirunner
PC
Press X Button to summon the Digirunner

Upon receiving the vehicle, you will be able to spawn it anytime by using the corresponding button for it depending on your platform, letting you travel faster and engage enemies on the move.

The Digirunner comes with a variety of controls that make it useful for both travel and combat. You can drive normally, use Boost for extra speed, and even Jump to clear obstacles or reach higher ground.

How To Upgrade The Digirunner

Upgrade By Using Manufacturer Weapons

Vehicle upgrades are tied to the weapon manufacturers. Getting kills with a specific brand’s weapons will increase your vehicle’s level for that manufacturer. The more kills you earn, the higher the upgrades you unlock.

Modify Your Vehicle in The Customization Screen

Vehicle Customization Screen
You can adjust both the appearance and performance of your vehicle through the Customization screen. Change the cosmetics and add manufacturer upgrades to your Digirunner.

Each Manufacturer Has Different Stats

Borderlands 4 - Vehicle Manufaturer Stats
Each manufacturer affects your vehicle’s speed, acceleration, handling, and boost. The more you use weapons from a particular manufacturer, the Hover Drive customizations you’ll unlock for your vehicles.

These customizations adjust how your vehicle feels on the road while you explore Kairos.
