This is a walkthrough for the Unpaid Tab mission in Borderlands 4. Follow this guide to find out how to get the password to the old refinery and save Quent.

Objective 1: Repair Carcadia

# Walkthrough

Borderlands 4 - Unpaid Tab Yorick Location
Talk to Yorick at the Ruined Sumplands.

Borderlands 4 - Core Electrical Relay
Find the core electrical relay in a room with pipes. Repair it by shooting the red highlighted parts until they explode. Through a hole in the room, shoot more parts on the opposite side of a wall. Then, activate core power by flipping the switch on the terminal.

Borderlands 4 - Repair Fast Travel Station
Go to the fast travel station and reactivate it by repeatedly flipping the switch.

Borderlands 4 - Restore Vending Systems
Next, go inside a large room with a tree and turn slightly right to see a switch. Interact with it to restore the vending systems.

Borderlands 4 - Restore Water
Leave and run straight to an area with pipes. Turn all the valves to restore Carcadia’s water.

Objective 2: Reach the Old Refinery

# Walkthrough

Borderlands 4 - Reach Firedust Bridge
Go to Firedust Bridge marked on the map.
2 You will be met by ripper enemies firing at you. Clear them all before lowering the first bridge.

Borderlands 4 - First Valve
Run to the left side to see a path sloping down. There, interact with the highlighted valve on the pipe.
4 Glide over the gap to reach the other side. Turning the second valve on this side, however, will not work.

Borderlands 4 - Shoot Bridge Beams
After jumping back to where the first valve is, look up to see red highlighted parts under the bridge. Shoot them to lower the bridge and cross it.

Borderlands 4 - Talk to Quent
Assist Quent by clearing the area of more rippers after crossing the bridge. Beat the Badass Rat-a-tat to loot some valuables. Once cleared of enemies, talk to Quent. .

Borderlands 4 - Reach Front Gate
Ride on ahead to the Wreck of the Cargonian to reach the old refinery. Interact with the intercom near the front gate. The ripper will not grant you entry without a password.
8 The game will show you marked locations to two ripper camps to get the password to enter the old refinery. There is no order to clearing the camps.

Objective 3: Get the Old Refinery Password

Eastern Ripper Camp

# Walkthrough

Borderlands 4 - Reach Eastern Ripper Camp
Since the eastern ripper camp is nearer, go there first.

Borderlands 4 - Eastern Ripper Camp Leader Eleri
Once reaching the camp, your presence will be alerted by the camp leader Eleri.
3 Clear the camp and kill Eleri. Be careful with the enemies here as they can easily overwhelm you.
4 After killing Eleri, get her ECHO Log among her drops. With one half of the front gate password, proceed to the western ripper camp.

Western Ripper Camp

Borderlands 4 - Reach Western Ripper Camp
Go past an enemy camp and use the grappling hook to reach the western ripper camp.

Borderlands 4 - Western Ripper Camp Leader Brenda
As with the eastern ripper camp, clear the whole area and kill the leader Brenda.
3 After killing Brenda, get her ECHO Log to complete the password to enter the front gate.

Borderlands 4 - Old Refinery Side Entrance
Instead of returning to the front gate, go to a side entrance past an enemy camp.
5 Cross the bridge and use the intercom there. You may now enter the old refinery.

Objective 4: Find the Prisoners

# Walkthrough

Borderlands 4 - Find Zane
Enter the old refinery. Once inside, you will see an open arena with enemies. You will also find Zane, who will assist you in battle.
2 After killing all the rippers, reinforcements will arrive. In addition to killing them all, kill Security Jones.

Borderlands 4 - Jamming Device
With all enemies killed, locate the jamming device and hack it. Use the grappling hook to remove the lid.

Borderlands 4 - Destroy Jamming Device
Destroy the jamming device by climbing onto a platform and performing a ground slam on top of it.
5 Another wave of rippers will appear. Kill them all to advance the mission.
6 Join Zayne at the elevator to reach the lower level. There, kill more rippers.

Borderlands 4 - Find Prisoners
Find the prisoners by going through a tunnel with Zane. Next, find Quent.

Objective 5: Find Quent

# Walkthrough

Borderlands 4 - Driller Hole
Drop down with Zane to another area full of rippers. Kill them all before facing the boss Driller Hole.
2 After killing Driller Hole, you will be faced with two choices: Save Quent or Lose Quent. You have one minute to save Quent, or else he will die.

Choice 1: Save Quent

# Walkthrough

Borderlands 4 - Pull Out Bars
To save Quent, you must look up and pull out 5 bars highlighted green around the machine. Use your grappling hook to do this.
2
Borderlands 4 - Destroy Pipes
Additionally, you must shoot 4 large pipes highlighted red at the top as well. Destroy these to save Quent and finish the mission.

Choice 2: Lose Quent

# Walkthrough
1 If the timer runs out, Quent will die.
2 Similar to saving Quent, you will have to destroy the machine anyway with the same steps. The mission will still be completed even with Quent dead.

Same Rewards After Saving or Losing Quent

Whether or not you were able to save Quent, it makes no difference in the rewards you receive after completing Unpaid Tab.
