Found in The Claim Abandoned Auger Mine

Backhive is an optional boss encounter located in The Claim Abandoned Auger Mine, Dissected Plateau in Fadefields. Abandoned Auger Mines becomes accessible after completing the Shadow of the Mountain Main Mission.

Backhive can also be repeatedly farmed after defeating it. Return to the location after the main mission and spend cash at the Moxxi's Big Encore Machine near the entrance of the boss arena to re-farm it.

Check icon Kill Nitro Kratches As They Spawn
Check icon Jump Over AOE Attacks
Check icon Avoid Charge Attack by Dashing

Kill Nitro Kratches As They Spawn

Backhive will summon Nitro Kratches throughout the fight. They can quickly overwhelm you and deal heavy damage when they explode. Eliminate them as soon as they appear.

Jump Over AOE Attacks

Backhive will occasionally unleash AOE attacks such as a ground slam or a seismic fissure. Time your jump to avoid taking damage.

Avoid Charge Attack by Dashing

WASD + Shift

Backhive will charge directly at you when you get too far, dealing damage on impact. Dash sideways to avoid the hit. If the charge misses, it will immediately follow up with an AOE ground slam, so be ready to evade both attacks.
