Unlock more weapon slots in Borderlands 4 by reaching Level 5, then Level 8. Learn how to unlock all the weapon slots and how to switch weapons by reading below!

How to Unlock Weapon Slots

Reach Level 5 and 8

Reach Level 5 and 8 to Unlock Weapon Slots

To unlock the rest of your character's weapon slots, they have to reach Level 5, then Level 8. This will unlock their third and fourth weapon slots, respectively.

How to Switch Weapons

Equip It in Slots in Inventory Menu

Put it in Slots in Inventory Menu

After freeing a new weapon slot, open your Inventory menu to equip it with a weapon. Alternatively, you can also equip a dropped weapon by holding the Take button.

Press Triangle, Y, or Scroll Mouse Wheel

Mouse Scroll Down Mouse Scroll Up

Pressing Y in a Xbox controller, Triangle in a Playstation controller, or scrolling down on the mouse wheel in PC will switch your character's weapon to the one on its right.

Hold Button to Use a Specific Slot

Hold Weapon Switch Button for Weapons Menu

If you hold the button for switching weapons, it will bring up a small menu of your weapon slots. This will let you equip a specific weapon from your slots.
