Get Free Golden Keys from SHiFT Codes

Claiming Golden Keys

You can count how many Golden Keys you have by checking your 'gold skull' currency below Eridium.

Golden Keys are obtained through active SHiFT codes that are given out from time to time from websites affiliated with Borderlands 4 and its developers, such as the Epic Games Store. Note that you will need to have a SHiFT account to obtain and redeem these codes.

Open Golden Chests for Legendaries

Golden Chest LootGolden Chests can be spotted immediately by their color, accompanied by a skull emblem.

Golden Keys are used for opening Golden Chests located in the following areas above.

Opening these chests will provide your rare loot, with the possibility of getting a legendary weapon. Because of this, it's worth keeping an eye out for sources of Golden Keys, such as SHiFT codes.

Note that loot obtained from these chests scale according to your level, so if you're aiming to save for something for True Vault Hunter Mode, you'll want to hang on to those keys!
