Baldur

Iron Flask is a special item that you can get during the Find the Missing Shipment sidequest in Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). Read on to learn about all the things you can do with the Iron Flask, how to get the Iron Flask, and the best uses of the Iron Flask.

What to Do With the Iron Flask

A Open it to Release a Spectator
B Deliver it to Zarys
C Throw it on Enemies

Open it to Release a Spectator

Baldur

Upon examining the Iron Flask through an Intelligence check (DC 10), you'll realize that it is a magical artifact, capable of trapping and holding a creature inside.

Removing the stopper from the Iron Flask will unleash a powerful creature known as the Spectator. The creature itself is Lv.5 and has a beefed up HP of 95.

It won't drop anything useful upon killing it, but you'll still receive a decent amount of experience from it.

What is Intelligence?

Deliver it to Zarys

Baldur

You can give the Iron Flask to Zarys located at the Zhentarim hideout at Waukeen's Rest, as long as the flask is still inside the chest and that you haven't opened the chest yet. Otherwise, she'll notice that you took a peek inside and will turn everyone in the hideout hostile.

Delivering the chest containing the flask to her will reward you with a unique crossbow called Harold, and you'll gain access to an improved stock from the merchant in the hideout.

Throw it on Enemies

Baldur

Throwing the Iron Flask on enemies will inflict a bit of damage to them and will initiate battle, but it'll also summon the Spectator and drag him in the fight.

How to Get the Iron Flask

Locked Chest in a Cave North of the Risen Road

The Iron Flask can be obtained inside a locked chest in a cave (X:36, Y: 626) on the northern section of the Risen Road and east of Waukeen's Rest.

The cave is also where you'll encounter Rugan and Olly who are both hiding from the Gnolls during the Find the Missing Shipment sidequest.

After defeating the Gnolls within the area, you'll have to go through a series of dialogue checks with Rugan, or kill him and his partner to retrieve the chest.
