Wanted to mention that ensnaring strands is the weapons ability btw - which shows the extra damage (normal attack does not)

There is currently a bug with this sword (as of 8/6/23), where after taking a long rest the extra psychic damage just disappears. Its not guaranteed after a long rest however, so you could go an entire playthrough and not encounter the bug. There is also another bug where the psychic damage stacks indefinitely instead of disappearing. A workaround for this bug is to store the sword in the camp chest before taking a long rest, which MIGHT prevent the damage from disappearing after a rest.
