When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Lif's best IVs are +Atk and -HP. With an Atk boon, Lif gains Atk+4, allowing him to further increase his massive damage output. All of his other stats are in a relatively good place, so HP is the ideal flaw.
If you are planning on merging Lif to +10, +Atk is the best IV. With +10 merges and a +Atk IV, his Atk reaches 62, which will allow him to OHKO a wide variety of foes. If you plan to use him as a Def/Res tank, +Res is a good option as well.

Lif is a Mythic Hero, and when summoned, you will receive an Anima Blessing. During Anima Season, allies who have been given an Anima Blessing and appear together with Lif in batlle will receive a HP+5 and Spd+4 bonus to their stats, increasing the party's overall power.
Lif's exclusive skill Sökkvabekkr will grant him +4 to all stats during combat and a guaranteed follow up attack, as long as an ally is within three spaces. This effect happens during counterattacks as well, so it has great synergy with Distant Counter.

It does have the drawback of inflicting 20 damage to the nearest ally, but if you pair him with an ally with a skill that only triggers when the unit's HP is low enough, you can use this to your advantage. In particular, this skill will be great when paired with units who are based around the skill Desperation.

Lif's special Open the Future has the effects of Bonfire, plus an HP restoration effect. This skill is very powerful on units with high Def as it will deal heavy amounts of damage while also healing generous amounts.
Lif's B skill Deadly Balanace will lower a foe's Atk/Def by 5 and grant Lif special cooldown +1 during combat when the foe has at least 50% HP or if Lif has an active penalty on him. This effect is both easy to trigger, and very powerful in combat, but keep in mind that it does not nullify the penalty itself.
Lif's C Skill Time's Pulse will grant special cooldown count-1 when his special cooldown is at the max count. This effect, along with that of Sökkvabekkr, will make it so that Open the Future triggers when countering a foe's attack, and further adds to the synergy of this unit's skillset.
While Sökkvabekkr is an extremely powerful weapon skill, it has the drawback of inflicting 20 damage on his closest ally. When attacking multiple foes in a row, this fixed damage can really tack on a ton of damage to allies. For this reason, he is not really the best unit for long battles with many foes.

Lif might not be the bulkiest swordsman, but because of his stat buffs, Special delay through Deadly Balance, and heals from Open the Future + Time's Pulse 3, he can be susceptibly bulky with enough support. Couple that with some defensive supports, heals, and maybe damage reduction from Flayn, Lif can be a very powerful dual tank.
Reyson and Leanne provide both heals and refreshes to Lif so she can brawl it out in the frontlines for much longer.
Since Lif is a physical unit, he would need some allies to cover units that are strong in absorbing physical damage. Some great ideas are Brave Celica,, New Year Peony who could also work as a support, and her collegaue, Thrasir.
Reyson, a physical can be a good choice too if you choose to run Triangle Adept 3 for the sole purpose of covering Lif' weakness against blue units.
For blue physical choices, Brave Edelgard sets the bar pretty high up for the the best pick.

Res is Lif' weaker stat so blue mages can easily exploit him. Stay clear of high-powered blue mages and have Lif' allies take them out instead.

Lif can be used to inherit both Inheriting Distant Counter and Time's Pulse. However, he is a powerful Mythic Hero, whose Anima Effect will be very useful in Aether Raids. We recommend leveling and building at least one Lif before foddering of or merging any duplicates.
Líf is a limited time Hero who can be pulled from a Mythic Hero Summoning event. They do not appear in regular summons.
Note: Not currently a featured hero in any Summon events.
