What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill grants Atk/Res bonuses, 【Resonance: Blades】 , and 【Resonance: Shields】 to unit and nearby allies at start of turn, grants stat bonuses, a guaranteed follow-up attack, true damage based on Res, and neutralizes foe's Atk/Res bonuses during combat. ・Exclusive C skill grants Atk/Res bonuses and 30% damage reduction to unit and allies during combat, and inflicts Special cooldown count +1 to foes that attack unit or allies during combat. |

Cooldown Count = 3 Boosts damage dealt by 50% of unit’s Res. |
If unit is within 3 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Res+7 to unit during combat, and also, if unit's Special is ready or unit's Special triggered before or during this combat, deals +5 damage during combat (except when dealing damage with area-of-effect Specials) and when unit deals damage during combat, restores 7 HP to unit. (Triggers even if 0 damage is dealt.) |

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Veyle are +Res and -Def. Veyle's Res is a superboon and boosting it enhances both her offense, with the true damage portion of Obscurité, and the defense of both Veyle and her allies by winning the Res check of Fell Protection.
Def is a clear dump stat and is the safe bane to take.
We recommend +Res when merging Veyle up to +10 to maximize the chances of winning the Res check of Fell Protection even against high Res foes.

Veyle's base kit is already good enough to function as a dual phase unit, with her high Atk and Res allowing for multiple roles.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Veyle is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Veyle's exclusive blue tome Obscurité grants Atk/Res+6, 【Resonance: Blades】 , and 【Resonance: Shields】 to herself and any nearby allies at the start of each turn.
In combat, Obscurité grants Veyle Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5, a guaranteed follow-up attack, true damage equal to 20% of her Res, and neutralizes her foe's visible bonuses to Atk/Res.
These effects all add up and improve Veyle's combat performance as well as improving the Res check of Fell Protection.
Veyle comes with an exclusive C skill in Fell Protection. This skill grants Atk/Res+5 to Veyle in combat, and if she wins a Res check, grants 30% damage reduction and inflicts Special cooldown count +1 on her foes before their first attack during combat.
Fell Protection also grants similar effects to all allies within 2 spaces of Veyle whenever they enter combat! Fell Protection grants them Atk/Res+4, and if Veyle wins a Res check against her ally's foe, her ally receives the 30% damage reduction and her ally's foe is inflicted with Special cooldown count +1.
Fell Protection is a versatile skill that aids both Veyle and her allies, and is powerful enough to be worth using often.
As a typical high Res mage, Veyle's Spd is quite mediocre at only base 30, while her Def is abysmal at only base 21.
Veyle will be relying heavily on Fell Protection's damage reduction effect when facing enemies that can both outspeed her and attack her weaker Def stat.
