Weapon Explanation
Hero GearHero Gear ・Octarians in the Crater? YIKES! is a tutorial Stage, so you can only choose the Hero Gear to complete it.
・The Hero has a high fire rate, but short range, so be sure to keep a safe distance when attempting to splat enemies.
・The Sub Weapon for this stage, Small Fry, can be used to reach items and attack enemies form a distance.

Destory All Crates and Balloons

Destroy the Crates and Balloons to practice shooting
Octarians in the Crater? YIKES! serves as tutroial stage and should be used as a means to get used to the basic controls of Splatoon 3. Make sure to destroy all the crates and ballons that you find in this stage, paying particular attention to the orange crates that reward you with Power Eggs when destroyed.

Activate Splat Switches to Proceed

Keep your eyes open for Splat SwitchesSplat Switches are giant purple squares found throughout levels.
Use ink to activate switchesInk these switches to activate them.

After destroying everything in the immediate area, you should some bright glowing squares called Splat Switches. Shoot these swithces to activate them, which will allow you to proceed further in the stage.

Use the Environment to Your Advantage

use the higher ground to your advantageUse the higher ground to get a better view, or defeat enemies with ease.

If you ink walls and other structures, you gain the ability to climb up them while in swim mode. yOu can use this technique to get a better view of your surroundings, as well splat enemies easily.
