Pain Train is a Strength Perk in Fallout 4 (FO4). Learn if Pain Train is worth it, Pain Train's ID and ranks, as well as how to get and unlock Pain Train.
Pain Train is worth it if you wear Power Armor all the time since it revolves around the use of this massive armor suit to stagger and inflict damage to enemies. When maxed out, you can even topple Deathclaws, Yao guais, and other large creatures, so we definitely recommend investing points in this perk!

Rank 2 | 24 | Sprinting into enemies while wearing Power Armor now causes severe damage and a more powerful stagger. (Robots and oversized enemies are immune to stagger.) |
Rank 3 | 50 | Sprinting into enemies while wearing Power Armor now causes massive damage and knocks them down. Impact landing near enemies inflicts even more damage. |
Pain Train is on Strength Level 10 |
The Pain Train perk is unlocked when your Strength is at Level 10. You can start at this level by assigning 10 points to Strength during the Registration Form at the start of the game. Otherwise, you can get to this level by collecting SPECIAL magazines or bobbleheads and spending perk points upon level up.
After getting to Strength 10, you're free to spend perk points on ranking up the skill, as long as you are at the required character level to rank up.
