Is Basher Worth It?

Only If You're a Long-Ranged Fighter

Basher is only useful if you are using long-ranged weapons such as sniper rifles or other scoped guns, as you can deal additional damage with gun bashing if enemies get upclose.

At higher ranks, you can even cripple your enemies with gun bashing, which lets you move back to a safe position and snipe them down.

Basher Ranks

Rank Required Lvl. Description
Rank 1 - Gun bashing does 25 percent more damage.
Rank 2 5 Gun bashing now does 50 percent more damage and possibly cripples your opponent.
Rank 3 14 Gun bashing now does 75 percent more damage and has an increased chance to cripple your opponent.
Rank 4 26 Gun bashing does double damage and has an increased chance to cripple your opponent. It may also inflict a critical hit.

How to Get Basher

Unlock Basher at Strength 8

Fallout 4 Basher Perk
Basher is on Strength Level 8

The Basher perk is unlocked when your Strength is at Level 8. You can start at this level by assigning 8 points to Strength during the Registration Form at the start of the game. Otherwise, you can get to this level by collecting SPECIAL magazines or bobbleheads and spending perk points upon level up.

After getting to Strength 8, you're free to spend perk points on ranking up the skill, as long as you are at the required character level to rank up.
