Epilogue at the End of Game

Baldur

Patch 5 brings a much-requested update to the game in the form of an Epilogue. This acts as a conclusion to your character's story in Baldur's Gate 3 and lets you reflect on your journey so far, with new cinematics being added and news of in-game events happening in Baldur’s Gate.

Along with these come new music, new faces in your camp, as well as a special cinematic ending for Gale and Lae’zel which depend on what choices you've made up to this point.

New Outfits Added

Baldur

New outfits have also been added for Origin characters during this final scene. Additionally, Orin's outfit will now drop as loot and can be equipped by any character.

New Honour and Custom Game Modes

Honour Mode

Baldur

Honour Mode bumps up the severity of the game's current highest difficulty - Tactician - with the addition of a new Legendary Action system. This includes tweaks to all of the boss fights where they can perform new actions to add another layer of danger to your gameplay.

When you die while playing in Honour Mode, you will be able to see statistics of your gameplay which include how long and how far you were able to progress. You can then choose to continue your gameplay at which point Honour Mode will be disabled.

Players that manage to complete Honour Mode will receive a Golden D20 as a reward for their success.

Honor Mode Changes and Rewards

Custom Mode

Baldur

Custom Mode, as the name suggests, allows players to adjust various elements of the game according to their preferences to allow for more forgiving or even more intense gameplay.

Some notable options include being able to hide the required roll for dice checks and the ability to hide enemy HP, both features that allow you to play a game more akin to tabletop D&D.

Improved Inventory Access

Baldur

Another addition with Patch 5 is an update to how you can access your inventory. This quality of life update lets you manage the inventory of companions that aren't in your active party without having to recruit them, effectively allowing you to manage your items more efficiently to avoid having any party members encumbered.

Various Perfomance Enhancements

The Patch 5 update includes many fixes to bugs and gameplay issues while also including enhancements to the game such as improved performance particularly in Act III, dynamic resolution for PS5, and considerable improvements for users playing on machines that have low VRAM/RAM.
