Divination Wizards wield magic that can influence the outcomes of the different dice rolls you perform in-game. From inflicting Disadvantage, granting Advantage, and even outright replacing the rolled value of a die roll, Divination Wizards rely on the portents of their dreams to influence the battlefield and skew it to work in their favor.
The School of Divination subclass will become available once your Wizard reaches Level 2. In order to earn EXP and level up in Baldur's Gate 3, players will need to complete quests, discover new areas, or defeat enemies they find in the world.

Upon unlocking the Divination subclass at Level 2, your Wizard will get the Divination Savant passive. With this active, learning Divination spells from spell scrolls will only cost 25 Gold per spell level.
Spell Level | Gold Cost |
---|---|
Level 1 | 25 Gold |
Level 2 | 50 Gold |
Level 3 | 75 Gold |
Level 4 | 100 Gold |
Level 5 | 125 Gold |
Level 6 | 150 Gold |
At Level 2, Divination Wizards will unlock a new feature called Portent Dice. Put simply, whenever you take a Long Rest, you roll two d20s. Once you wake up, you will get two values from each d20. These are your Portent Dice Rolls.
Now, at any time during the day, you can use either of your Portent Dice rolls to replace the outcome of an Attack Roll or Saving Throw of a nearby ally or enemy. Think of it as replacing the real dice throw value with on of the numbers you dreamed up during your Long Rest.
Additionally, do note that any unused Portent Dice rolls will be voided at the end of the day. This means you cannot save a rolled d20 for a rainy day. Make sure to use all your Portent Dice rolls as they get re-rolled as soon as you start your next Long Rest.
At Level 6, your Portent Dice feature is improved, granting you one additional Portent Die to roll (bringing the total to 3). On top of this, you can now recharge spent Portent Dice by performing a Short Rest. Any good rolls you had during your Long Rest can now be used multiple times within the day to influence outcomes in your favor.
At Level 10 you unlock the class action called Third Eye: Darkvision. When cast, it will allow you to see up to 24m in front of you. This is the same range as the Superior Darkvision trait that some races in Baldur's Gate 3 have.
On top of having Darkvision, you also unlock Third Eye: See Invisibility at Level 10. This action, when cast, allows you to see invisible creatures in the area.
