The BD-1 default component set is the default parts attached to BD-1 when you begin the game. This includes the photoreceptor, head, audio sensor, body, and legs.
Workbenches are stations where you can customize your droid, lightsaber, and blaster! These can be found scattered on the map as you make your way through the story! One very accessible workbench is one on your ship, The Mantis, and coincidentally it's the first one you unlock.
