How to Get to Saffron City
Get the Tea in Celadon Mansion
Players can obtain the Tea item from an elderly lady in the first floor of the Celadon Mansion, located east of the Celadon Department Store.
Speaking with her will give you the Tea key item, which allows players to get past the gates leading to Saffron City.
How to Get Tea: Drink for Thirsty Guards
Give the Tea to the Thirsty Gate Guard to Enter Saffron City
Once you enter Saffron City from Route 5, Route 6, Route 7, or Route 8, a guard will stop you saying that the road is closed and that he is thirsty.
If you have the Tea with you, the Guard will allow you to pass in exchange for the drink.
