You can farm money by repeatedly losing to the Team Rocket Grunt at the end of Nugget Bridge in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen (FRLG). Learn where and how to farm the Nuggets in this guide!

Head to Nugget Bridge in Route 24

Nugget NPC Location

Go to Nugget Bridge in Route 24, north of Cerulean City. If this is your first time going through the bridge, you will have to win against the five trainers on the bridge but not the last one, which is important for the next step.

Receive a Nugget From the Team Rocket Grunt

Receive a Nugget

The person at the end of Nugget Bridge is actually a Team Rocket Grunt in disguise. Before challenging you, they will give you a Nugget, which is the target item of this farm. Each Nugget can be sold for 5,000.

Lose the Fight

Lose on Purpose

Lose the fight with the Team Rocket Grunt on purpose. This will allow you to repeat the previous steps. Repeat them until you are satisfied with the amount of Nuggets you have.

Bring a Weak Pokemon

Bring a Weak Pokemon

To farm efficiently, it's recommended to only bring one pokemon and make sure it's weak so it can be taken out in one hit. This will significantly shorten the fight, thus making the farming process faster.

How Long Does It Take to Get Max Money?

Around 2 Hours

You will need 200 Nuggets to earn 999,999, which is the maximum amount of money you can carry. It will take around 2 hours to get 200 Nuggets.

However, the total time might vary because the moveset of the enemy Ekans has Leer, a non-damaging move.
