Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen - How to Fast Travel

You can fast travel to another location by using Fly from the party screen in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen (FRLG). Learn how to fast travel and use Fly from the party screen here!

How to Fast Travel

Use Fly From the Party Screen

Use Fly From the Party Screen

To fast travel to another town, you will need a Pokemon that knows the move Fly in your party. This can be taught to Pokemon using HM02 from the woman in Route 16.

Open the party screen, select the Pokemon that knows Fly, and select the Fly option. It will open the map, and you can select a location you've previously visited to quickly travel to it. Eligible locations are marked with a wing icon.

Where to Get Fly (HM02)

Fast Travel is Only Possible Outdoors

You can only fast travel when you are outdoors. If you are in a cave or a dungeon-type area, you can use an Escape Rope or Dig to quickly return outside before using Fly. If these options aren't available, you'll unfortunately have to walk out yourself or continue until you white out from all Pokemon in your party fainting.
