How to Use Potions

Pokemon FRLG - How to Use Potions

You can use Potions to recover your Pokemon's HP in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen (FRLG). See how to use and get Potions in this guide.

How to Use Potions

Potions Guide

Open the Bag to the Items Tab

Open the Items Tab of the Bag

To use a Potion, first open the Menu and select the Bag option. Once you open your Bag, head to the Items tab and look for a Potion to use.

How to Open the Main Menu

Select A Potion and Choose Use

Select and Use a Potion

Once you've found a Potion, select it and choose the Use option to open up the Pokemon Team screen. Select an injured Pokemon to use the Potion on it and heal its HP.

Stronger Potions Heal More HP

Item Effect
Potion Restores 20 HP to a Pokemon.
Super Potion Restores 50 HP to a Pokemon.
Hyper Potion Restores 200 HP to a Pokemon.
Max Potion Fully restores the HP of one Pokemon.
Full Restore Fully restores the HP and heals any status problems of one Pokémon.

Potions can come in stronger variations that heal a lot more HP for your Pokemon. It's recommended to stock up on several types to cover different situations. After all, you wouldn't want to waste a Hyper Potion on a Pokemon that only needs a small health boost!

Can Also Be Used in Battle

Open the Bag in Combat

You can also do this in battle by choosing the Bag option and looking for the Potion in-combat! Note that using a Potion will consume the turn, meaning that you cannot use a Move and an Item in the same turn.

Where to Get Potions

Bought From PokeMarts

Pokemart 7
