What Are Key Items?
Special Items That Progress the Story
Key Items are various special items used at certain points of the game that progress the story. These can open up new areas, trigger events, access new features, or cause certain Pokemon to appear.
How to Use Key Items
Access Through Your Bag
To access Key Items, open up the game Menu and go to your Bag and go to the Key Items tab. Find an item and choose Use to access it in the overworld.
Register a Key Item for Quick Access
In the Key Items tab, you can Register a Key Item to assign it to the Select button. This allows you to immediately use the Key Item in the overworld just by pressing Select.
Some Key Items are Used Automatically
Some Key Items are automatically used at certain points of the game to progress the story. New areas or events can be accessed just by having the Key Item in your Bag.
