The Bike is a great Key Item to have access to, as it lets you traverse through Kanto a lot faster than by running. By pressing the minus (-) Button, you can ride on it and explore a lot more quickly.

The VS Seeker is good for EXP farming by letting you challenge previously fought trainers. This lets you earn money and EXP, which is great for training your Pokemon.

The Itemfinder is a great tool for searching for hidden items. There are a lot of items spread out across Kanto, so having quick access to this will let you find them a lot easier, even while progressing through the story.

Item Registration lets you select one Key Item to gain quick access to. Once you register the item through your Bag in the Main Menu, you can press the minus (-) button to use it!
Key Items are the only things you can register, and they work even if the item has no Use function.
