HM02 Fly Pokemon FRLG - Flying Pokemon FRLG - Physical 70 95 15 Route 16
Talk to the woman in the house in the northern part of Route 16.
HM03 Surf Pokemon FRLG - Water Pokemon FRLG - Special 95 100 15 Safari Zone Area 3
Talk to the man in the Secret House in Safari Zone Area 3.
HM04 Strength Pokemon FRLG - Normal Pokemon FRLG - Physical 80 100 15 Safari Zone Area 3
Give the Safari Warden the Gold Teeth you can pick up from Safari Zone Area 3.
HM05 Flash Pokemon FRLG - Normal Pokemon FRLG - Status - 70 20 Route 2
After capturing 10 unique Pokemon, talk to Professor Oak's Aide in the building blocked by a small tree in Route 2.
HM06 Rock Smash Pokemon FRLG - Fighting Pokemon FRLG - Physical 20 100 15 One Island
Talk to the old man between the two waterfalls in Ember Spa in One Island.
HM07 Waterfall Pokemon FRLG - Water Pokemon FRLG - Special 80 100 15 Icefall Cave
Pick up in the southeast area of Icefall Cave in Four Island.

There are a total of seven Hidden Machines in FireRed and LeafGreen. If you get a Pokemon with the move Dive, it is also classified as an HM and cannot be unlearned. But there is no Pokemon that can naturally obtain this move in FRLG unless you trade one in from Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald.

How to Get HMs

Find HMs as Hidden Items in the Overworld

Some HMs can be found in Item Balls in the Overworld. Unlike future titles, these Item Balls are the same color as other Item Balls, so do try to pick up any you come across.

Receive HMs From NPCs

Some HMs can be obtained by talking to various NPCs. These are usually story locked, so you'll obtain most of them just by playing through the main story.

What Are HMs?

Hidden Machines

Hidden Machines (HMs) are multi-use disks that contain data for a Move that certain Pokemon can learn like TMs. However, these moves can be used to help you traverse the overworld.
