The Champion, your Rival, has a varying lineup depending on your chosen Starter Pokemon. His starter will fully evolve by the time you reach the Pokemon League, and it will be paired with different Pokemon for a full roster of 6.
His lineup will have mainstays like Pidgeot, Alakazam, and Rhydon, while other Pokemon such as Gyarados, Arcanine, and Exeggutor may fill the remaining slots in his roster.
To beat him reliably, bring a team with a mix of Ice, Electric, and Psychic-type moves, as these cover most of his Pokémon’s weaknesses. Flying and Dragon-type moves can also help.

After you’ve beaten the Elite Four and the Champion, you can return to the Indigo Plateau at any time to challenge them again.
Once you’ve completed the Sevii Islands post‑game content their teams will be leveled up and strengthened for subsequent rematches, giving you tougher battles and a chance to train or test new strategies.
