The Elite Four consists of four powerful members, each specializing in a specific Pokemon type. To defeat them, prepare Pokemon and moves that exploit these weaknesses, and ensure your team is leveled appropriately to handle their strongest members.

Champion Blue’s lineup depends on the starter he chose at the beginning of the game. To reliably defeat him, bring a team that covers Flying, Dragon, Ice, and Psychic type weaknesses.

It’s recommended to have your Pokemon at least two levels higher than her strongest Pokemon, or grind until around Level 65 to prepare for the Elite Four and Champion battles.

Champion Blue’s team varies depending on the starter he chose at the beginning of the game. His lineup always includes Pidgeot, Alakazam, and Rhydon, while the other three Pokemon change: if he picked Bulbasaur, expect Gyarados, Arcanine, and Venusaur; with Charmander, he uses Exeggutor, Gyarados, and Charizard; and with Squirtle, it’s Arcanine, Exeggutor, and Blastoise.
To beat him reliably, bring a team with a mix of Ice, Electric, and Psychic-type moves, as these cover most of his Pokémon’s weaknesses. Flying and Dragon-type moves can also help, especially against Gyarados and Dragonite.
After you’ve beaten the Elite Four and the Champion, you can return to the Indigo Plateau at any time to challenge them again.
Once you’ve completed the Sevii Islands post‑game content, their teams will be leveled up and strengthened for subsequent rematches, giving you tougher battles and a chance to train or test new strategies.
