Saffron City Silph Co.
Gym -

Saffron City

1 Head into Saffron City via Route 6 with the Tea Key Item from the woman in Celadon Mansion. The guard will take the Tea in exchange for letting you through.
2 When you enter, head West until you can go North, then continue North until you can turn East. Walk East until you reach the center of Saffron City to find the Silph Co. building, and head inside. Make your way to the elevator.

Silph Co.

1 There are a total of 11 Floors in the building. To progress, make your way to the 5th Floor.
2 From the elevator, head West, then South until you see a warp tile. Step on it to be sent to the 9th Floor, and then reuse the warp tile to be sent back to the 5th floor. Continue to head South and go East to find the Card Key item.
3 Use and reuse the warp tiile from earlier to end up back on the other side. Open the gate to your left and use the warp tile to end up on the 3rd Floor.
4 Go East, then North and unlock the gate to your left. Use the warp tile to end up on the 7th Floor.
5 Your Rival will be waiting for you in this room. Defeat him, then talk to the other person in this room to receive Lapras.
4 Use the other warp tile after defeating your Rival to reach the 11th Floor. Then, head South and East to find a room with Giovanni in it. Defeat him to clear the building and obtain the Master Ball.
Giovanni fights with mainly Ground types, with their levels at 35-41. Some of his Pokemon can inflict Poison, so keep some Antidotes ready.

Saffron City Gym

1 With Giovanni defeated, you can now challenge the Saffron City Gym. It is a Psychic type gym, but Ghost and Dark type Pokemon are either uncommon or outright unavailable at this moment.
We recommend using strong physical attackers to take advantage of the low Def stat of Sabrina's Pokemon.
2 The Gym uses warp tiles similar to those in the Silph Co. building. To get to the gym leader, take the following tiles:
East (Entrance) > Northeast > Northwest > Southwest > Southwest (Sabrina)
3 Take on the gym leader Sabrina to claim the Marsh Badge, as well as TM04: Calm Mind.
Her team consists of Level 37-38 Psychic-types, with her ace being a higher-level Alakazam. Be wary of her using stat-boosting moves like Calm Mind, as these can make her Pokemon forces to be reckoned with.
