This is a list of all move tutors and important NPCs you can interact with in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen (FRLG). See all the moves you can get from NPCs, all useful characters and their features, characters that give items, and ones that give Pokemon here!

| Rock Slide | Rock Tunnel A young boy trainer is found on the west side of the Rock Tunnel close to the end. He gives you the Rock Slide move. |
| Counter | Celadon City In the room with multiple TVs, talk to a salesman behind the counter to get the move. |
| Soft-Boiled | Celadon City Talk to the old man in front of one of the buildings. You must use Surf to reach him. |
| Mimic | Saffron City Give a Pokedoll to the Copycat girl to get Mimic. |
| Thunder Wave | Silph Co. On the 2nd floor, talk to a girl in the north west room to get the move. |
| Substitute | Fuchsia City A boy wearing a straw hat can be found in front of the Kangaskhan in the City Zoo. Get the move from him. |
| Dream Eater | Viridian City Use Cut or Surf to reach an NPC behind a few tall trees. |
| Metronome | Cinnabar Island In the Pokemon Lab, you can talk to a Researcher to get Metronome. |
| Double-Edge | Victory Road Near the last ladder of Victory Road, a trainer gives you Double-Edge. |

There are 16 Move Tutors in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Teach Pokemon some of the strongest moves with them here!
Do take note that Move Tutors will only give you a move once. You cannot get them multiple times.

In One Island, Celio can be found in the Pokemon Network Center, where he'll be asking you to help him complete the Pokemon Network Machine.
After becoming the Champion, you can return to Celio to receive the Rainbow Pass and gain access to the rest of the Sevii Islands. You may complete his Network Machine quest in the post game by giving him the Ruby and Sapphire to gain access to trading Hoenn and Johto Pokemon.

The Protagonist's Mom is found in Pallet Town and asks you to rest when you're in the area. She acts as an alternative to the Pokemon Center, letting both you and your Pokemon recover to full HP and PP.

The Name Rater is located in Lavender Town and is the NPC to rename Pokemon. Talk to him inside one of the houses, so he can judge the nickname and change it if you like.

Daisy Oak in Pallet Town checks your Pokemon's happiness whenever you visit her. Happiness is important for certain Pokemon to evolve, and it can affect how effective certain moves and status effects are on the Pokemon.
All Friendship (Happiness) Evolutions

The Move Deleter in Fuchsia City lets you remove a Pokemon's move, including TMs and HMs. Talk to an old NPC inside a house just beside the Gym.

The Move Relearner is located in Two Island inside a purple-roof house near the Pokemon Center. Talk to him to relearn moves that a Pokemon naturally gets through leveling up. You cannot get moves from TMs and HMs here.

Daisy Oak is a character in Pallet Town that gives you the Town Map. Talk to her after choosing your starter and defeating your rival.
Kanto Region Map and All Locations

In Viridian City, enter the Poke Mart to get a parcel dedicated to Professor Oak. You may then return to Pallet Town to give it to him and receive the Pokedex.

You will occasionally meet Professor Oak's Aides throughout the Kanto region. Talk to them and receive special items like the Running Shoes, Everstone, Itemfinder, Amulet Coin, and EXP Share by capturing a certain number of Pokemon!

Bill is a character you first meet in Cerulean Cape, where he'll be in the form of a Clefairy. You must help him to get the S.S. Ticket to ride the S.S. Anne.
In a second meeting, Bill is found in Cinnabar Island to talk you into going to the Sevii Islands. After accepting, he gives you the Meteorite and Tri-Pass to travel to and from One, Two, and Three Islands.

The Fan Club Chairman in Vermilion City gives you the Bike Voucher key item, which lets you claim and use a bike from the Bicycle Shop.

You can receive the fishing rod items from the Fishing Guru and his brothers located across different areas of Kanto.

An Old Lady NPC can be found in one of the Celadon Mansions of the City, who will give you the Tea item when you talk to her.

In Viridian City, you can get the Teachy TV item from the Old Man who teaches you how to capture Pokemon.

You can find Selphy in the Lost Cave, where she initially battles you. After beating her, she returns to Resort Gorgeous and rewards you with items when you show her Pokemon she requests.

There are a couple of NPCs who give you Pokemon for free by progressing through the game or by clearing certain objectives.
All Gift Pokemon and How to Get Them

The Magikarp Salesman is an NPC you can talk to in Route 4's Pokemon Center to purchase a Magikarp for 500 Poke Dollars. This is a one-time purchase, but it's great to get an early Magikarp that you can leave in the Day Care.
