Pokemon FRLG - Which Fossil Should You Choose

You can choose between the Dome Fossil and the Helix Fossil in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen (FRLG). Learn which fossil you should choose, what Pokemon the fossils turn into, and if you can get both fossils here!

Which Fossil Should You Choose

Omanyte or Kabuto

Fossil Pokemon Evolve Evolved Form
Helix Fossil Pokemon FRLG - Omanyte Omanyte Lv. 40
Pokemon FRLG - Omastar Omastar
Dome Fossil Pokemon FRLG - Kabuto Kabuto Lv. 40
Pokemon FRLG - Kabutops Kabutops

The Helix Fossil turns into Omanyte and the Dome Fossil turns into Kabuto. They are both Rock-Water type Pokemon and evolve into Omastar and Kabutops once they reach Level 40, respectively.

Helix Fossil For Omanyte's Sp. Atk Stat

If you want the fossil Pokemon to cover your Water-type moves, then we recommend picking the Helix Fossil. Omastar's Sp. Atk stat is high and synergizes well with Water-type moves being Special attack moves.

It can also learn Ice-type moves such as Ice Beam and Blizzard via TMs, more powerful Special type moves, as a counter to Grass-type Pokemon.

Dome Fossil For Kabuto's Attack Stat

On the other hand, if you want the fossil Pokemon to cover your Rock-type moves, then you'll want to pick the Dome Fossil. Kabutops's high Attack stat synergizes well with Rock-type moves being Physical attack moves.

It can also learn Aerial Ace, a strong Flying-type move, to counter Grass-type Pokemon.
