Simon, The Divergent Star Location
Endless Tower
Simon, The Divergent Star can be encountered in the Endless Tower after defeating the original Simon in The Abyss.
Climb up the stairs past the canvas and use the grappling hook towards the next platform, then head to end to find Simon, The Divergent Star's portrait. Interact with it to start the battle.
How to Beat Simon, The Divergent Star
- Observe the Pillars of Light
- Avoid the Last Hit of the Light Speed Attack
- Play Defensively
- Ensure that All Characters are Built
Observe the Pillars of Light
The pillars of light behind Simon before they attack indicates the number of follow-ups and the timing of their appearance in their attack. The white light refers to the sword, while the cyan, red, and yellow lights are the follow-ups.
The follow-ups are in order from left to right. If only the white and red pillars appear, then the attack will only have the 2nd follow-up, skipping the 1st follow-up from the cyan light.
Dodge or Parry the Last Hit of the Light Speed Attack
Simon, The Divergent will always play first to cast the light speed attack, bypassing First Strike and the Auto Death, Second Chance, Revive Paradox combo.
It is imperative to at least dodge or parry the final hit of the combo, as it forcibly removes the party when it connects, bypassing revives from Second Chance and Verso's Aureole.

The fight with Simon, The Divergent Star is a skill check, actively punishing players who fail to dodge or parry. They gain another turn whenever they defeat an ally, and will remove them from the fight unless revived by Second Chance or Verso's Aureole.
It is advised to equip Pictos with high health and defense stats and focus on Lumina that improves survival to survive their attacks. When players take their turn, the Cheater and Clea's Life combo heals the ally to full on their second turn, allowing them to take advantage of Full Strength when dealing damage.

For offense, players skilled in parry can opt to increase their counter damage via Augmented Counter with Empowering Parry and Painted Power. As the fight will inevitably be drawn out, stacking Warming Up will not be an issue, and Full Strength will always be on active on the second turn via Cheater and Clea's Life.
However, First Strike still allows players to act immediately after the lightspeed attack if they survive it, where they can take advantage of First Offensive and Augmented First Strike, assuming they didn't counter the combo.

Ensure that All Characters are Built
Simon, The Divergent Star will remove the main party in Phase 2, forcing the reserve members to play. It is highly recommended to have all characters built prior to the encounter, as the fight relies on having both the main and reserve members to deal damage and survive attacks.
