Sinister Cave is located east of Sirene. Swim towards the northeastern corner of The Continent to find the entrance of Sinister Cave.
Interactive Map: All Locations and Areas

Esquie must be able to swim through corals to reach Sinister Cave. This ability is unlocked after completing Old Lumiere during Act 2.

This location is unique for having most of its area unlit, making traverse rather difficult or confusing for the player. The cave however is a simple area with one entrance and exit point and a terminus leading to a boss fight.
The characters automatically turn their lamp on without any energy required, allowing for some visibility.

To make things easier for the player, always remember that upon entry in this cave, there will be two major road forks the player can proceed through as well as a visible center area that is also accessible.

Should the player go left, they will encounter a glowing blue figure from a slightly-elevated pathway. The figure will serve as a landmark for the player knowing they are in the left path.
The player can pick up Elerim here, a weapon for Lune. The player can either backtrack to the start of the road fork or jump down but nothing is further left of the area.

Should the player head right, they will encounter several areas of interest. Going further right leads to the terminus of the cave section, where Chromatic Chalier is fought.
Stopping and looking up near a jagged rock will show a grapple rope point that the player can use to reach the top. The player can then head further north to find a small hole they can jump through to obtain the Music Record first seen on a ledge in the cave.
Heading right and looking at an edge will instead reveal to the player the center of the cave with a Gestral that has seen better days. The player can pick up Corderon for Sciel here.

This is a list of all Rest Point Flags that are used to fast travel from one point of an area to another.

The Chromatic Chalier is found at the end of the cave complex, going right from the road before some grapple ropes and a platform. The boss also emits noises on approach.
Just like with all Chromatic enemies, these are highly dangerous targets for the player to encounter. Prepare your team and level them for a smooth combat experience.
This boss drops Chalium, a weapon for Maelle as well as Resplendent Chroma Catalysts and Colour of Lumina.

Corderon is a weapon for Sciel and is obtained by going right from the cave's road fork and platforming with the grapple ropes.
Proceed a little further then look down from the edge on the right, you will see a drop down point with a Gestral on it. This is the center of the cave seen earlier from the road fork.
Jump down to see and obtain the weapon. The Gestral Merchant itself cannot be talked to any further.

One of the first items the player will see in this cave is a Music Record containing the song Nocturne Pour Lumiere. It is located on a ledge to the right after heading through the cave's entrance and is hard to miss.
This ledge however cannot be vaulted and the player must trek the dark cave to get through it.

From the forking road of the cave with two directions, continue to head right and follow the trail until you see some grapple points. Grapple all the way to the top and do not jump off. Head straight until you see a small hole.
Jump through this hole and you'll be able to access the ledge and get the Music Record. This can then be used when in a Campsite by going to the phonograph behind the fireplace.
