Clair Obscur Expedition 33 All Missables and Points of No Return

Many Missables—interactions, items, and skills that become unavailable with story progress—are easy to miss in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Check out all the missable items, skills, encounters in the Prologue and other Acts, Points of No Return, and missable trophies in this guide!

Prologue Missables

  1. Crimson Uniform from Jules
  2. Recoat from Nicholas the Painter
  3. Chroma Catalysts from the Trash-can Man
  4. Colour of Lumina from Eloise
  5. Talk to Everyone for Extra Dialogue
  6. Mime at the Harbor
  7. Festival Tokens and Rewards
  8. Baguette Weapons From New Game+

Crimson Uniform from Jules

Expedition 33 - Richard

You can find a person with a red suit named Richard near one of the statues just before the Flower Market during the Prologue. Talk to him and you'll obtain the A Uniform for Richard's Son. After the Gommage cutscene, search for Jules at the Expedition Festival.

You can find Jules at the foot of a large lamp post going to the docks. Talk to Jules before listening to the speech of Emma, otherwise, you can no longer unlock the Crimson Outfit.

How to Get the Crimson Uniform from Jules

Recoat from Nicholas the Painter

Just past the Flower Market in the Prologue, look for the painter Nicholas standing near a horse statue and a canvas.

Talk to him and complete a duel where you must successfully dodge Sophie's attacks six times in a row to receive a Recoat, which is used to reallocate a character’s Attributes and Skill Points!

Chroma Catalysts from the Trash-can Man

In the same area as Nicholas and the statue in the Prologue, look for the trash can beside a set of stairs. Interact with it repeatedly until the Trash-can Man starts talking. The Trash-Can Man will give you a Chroma Catalyst, which is used to upgrade weapons.

Additionally, if you interact with him again at the same place during the Finale you'll receive a Perfect Chroma Catalyst! Unfortunately, this won't work if you didn't interact with him during the Prologue.

Colour of Lumina from Eloise

Find Eloise between a tilted statue and the wooden stage past the Flower Market and talk to her. You will be asked to destroy the Punching Ball in one hit, and given a Colour of Lumina in return.

Use Gustave's Overcharged Skill to Win

The Punching Ball will heal itself whenever it takes a turn, so your best strategy is to charge up Gustave's Overcharged skill and use it to destroy the Punching Ball with one attack!

Talk to Everyone for Extra Dialogue

During the Prologue, you will come across crowds of people while walking with Sophie. Remember to talk to everyone you can for extra dialogue and interactions!

Mime at the Harbor

Once you reach the harbor during the Prologue, don't go directly down the stairs. First, go to the stage where children are performing and then head east. You will then see the game's first Mime, which you can fight.

All Mime Locations and How to Beat Them

Festival Tokens and Rewards

During the Festival Expedition in the Prologue, there will be three booths that you can get rewards from by exchanging Festival Tokens! Complete Antoine's quiz and duel with Maelle to get enough tokens

Festival Tokens can be redeemed to obtain the Old Key from Colette, Bun Haircut for Gustave from Amandine, and a Weird Picto from Tom.

Festival Tokens Locations

Baguette Weapons From New Game+

If you didn't spend any of your Fesitval Tokens previously, you can spend all three of them on your New Game Plus to buy a Baguette Weapon for any of the characters! You can buy it in Lumiere, specifically in the “Boulangerie” Bakery.

Note that this prompt will only appear if you have any Festival Tokens in your Inventory. It also won't work if you interact with the Bakery using Sophie or any of the characters that have the Baguette weapon already.

How to Get Baguette and Location

Other Missable Items, Skills, and Encounters

  1. Karatom's Quest
  2. Gustave's Homage Is a Missable Skill
  3. Clea Outfit Is Missable
  4. Lettre a Maelle Is Missable
  5. Auto Powerful Is a Missable Picto

Karatom's Quest

During Act 1 in the Gestral Village, you can talk to Karatom and start its quest for a mushroom. To complete this side quest, you must go to Esquie's Nest and pick up the Blue Mushroom near the area's Mime.

Give the mushroom to Karatom to fight his own Ultimate Sakapatate and be rewarded with Pure Outfit for Gustave after winning.

Karatom Quest Guide

Gustave's Homage Is a Missable Skill

Gustave

Gustave's Homage is a skill that can be obtained after writing several times on Gustave's journal at camp. Do note that after Act 2, Gustave or Maelle cannot write on the journal anymore. So, you cannot get Gustave's Homage during Act 3!

List of All Skills

Clea Outfit Is Missable

Young Boy Dialogue

After beating Clea in the Flying Manor, return to the Young Boy NPC to get the Clea Outfit. But, you can only choose between Maelle, Lune, or Sciel. So, you will not be able to get the Clea outfit for the characters you did not select.

Lettre a Maelle Is Missable

Music Record

Lettre a Maelle is a missable music record since you can only get it after selecting the Check up on the others dialogue option at the campfire after beating the first Axon, Sirene or Visages, in Act 2.

How to Get Lettre a Maelle Music Record

Auto Powerful Is a Missable Picto

Auto Powerful Location

Auto Powerful is a missable Picto if players did not choose to kill Chalier. After defeating the Nevron NPC Chalier in Floating Cemetery, listen to his wish and choose to kill him to get the Auto Powerful Picto.

If players refused his wish, Chalier will continue to send the players off, and Auto Powerful cannot be obtained for the rest of the playthrough. This can only be reversed by loading a save before making the decision.

Should You Kill Chalier?
