How to Remove Barbapapa
Use Cleansing Skills to Remove it
Barbapapa can be removed by using Character Skills that cleanse Status Effects. Examples of these include Sciel's Dark Cleansing and Lune's Healing Light.
Draining Cleanse Picto Doesn't Work
Take note that equipping the Draining Cleanse Picto can't prevent Barbapapa application. Character Skills will still be the more reliable option of cleansing Barbapapa.
Use Multi-Hit Skills or Base Attacks
Since Barbapapa stacks are consumed with every hit, you can try using Skills with a high hit count to remove them. You can also equip the Combo Attack I, II, and III Pictos to deal extra hits with Base Attacks.
Although these methods are quick alternatives to remove Barbapapa stacks, they're less recommended since your characters' damage will still be reduced to 1 until all their Barbapapa stacks are cleared. They're also less effective if your characters already have a lot of stacks.
What is Barbapapa?
Status Effect that Reduces Damage to 1
Barbapapa is a status effect that can be stacked onto your party members. For every Barbapapa stack a character has, the next instance of their damage dealt with a Skill or Attack is reduced to 1.
The Barbapapa status effect was added to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with the 1.5.0 Thank You Update that was released on December 12, 2025.
