How to Catch Petank
Chase Petanks to an Illuminated Tile
Petanks will only stop running if you manage to push them toward their illuminated tiles. If you spot a Petank, it’s best to check the area first to locate the illuminated tile. Then, plan how you can push it toward the tile to battle it!

Use Powerful Moves
The best way to defeat Petanks is to go all out and use any powerful moves available. They will flee if you take too much time defeating them, so make sure to equip your strongest skills and weapons before approaching this enemy!
Turn-Based Combat Guide and Tips
Reset if Petank Flees
If a Petank flees from combat, you can head to an Expedition Flag or Rest Point to reset it. However, if you already defeated it, it won't respawn!

Ancient Sanctuary
The Petank can be found near the Expedition Flag at the Ancient Sanctuary's entrance. Chase the Petank and make it pass over the log bridge ahead. The illuminated tile should be on the other side of the stream.
Esquie's Nest
From the entrance of Esquie's Nest, go through the narrow tunnel and jump down from the left side of the bridge. Approach from the left to make the Petank pass through the cave on the right. On the other end, the illuminated tile should be on the right between two large rocks.
Stone Wave Cliffs
At the Old Farm checkpoint of Stone Wave Cliffs, approach the first shack on the right to find the Petank below. Approach from behind and make the Petank pass through the gates.
Chase the Petank from the left afterwards to force it into an alleyway on the right, and the illuminated tile should be at the other end of this path.
Endless Night Sanctuary
From the Night Totem Expedition Flag, head to the exit past the Ultimate Sakapatate. Instead of exiting , however, keep left to find a small tunnel leading to a new area. Follow the path until you go through an arch to find the Petank.
Follow the Petank until you see that it is beside the glowing tile. From here, look for a bend on the side that will take you to the other side of the Petank. Approach it from here to chase it into the tile.

Frozen Hearts
The Frozen Hearts Petank is located directly to the left of an abandoned building beside a piano and will be encountered before the Iced Heart Expedition Flag. The Illuminated Flag around it is further north.
Fade Sprint to the Left
Press forward towards the Petank and it will glide right. Fade sprint to the left then continue following to push it northwards until it reaches the illuminated flag.
The Reacher
There is a Petank that can be found in the same area that a Manor door is located at, found by following a winding ramp down into a lower floor.
You'll have to chase the Petank towards the edge of the area, as its tile is located by the cliff's edge. It will run into groups of Nevrons on the way; defeat them and continue chasing it down.
Isle of the Eyes
Enter the Isle of Eyes and proceed forward, up the stairs and under a mannequin with an eye in its chest. After passing under its arm, hop off the right side of the platform to fall into the area with the Petank.
Chase the Petank around the stone pillars into the glowing tile beside another mannequin with an eye in its chest cavity.
Sirene
Sirene has two Petanks, a red one and a blue one, that will drop Resplendent Chroma, Colour of Lumina, and Recoat when defeated.
Red Petank
After taking a floating disc to a room with a large statue at the center, enter the room behind the statue to find a red Petank. You must approach it from the left side so it runs to the statue room and into the room to the right where you can corner it.
Blue Petank
The blue Petank in Sirene is found to the left of the Glissando boss area. Check the floating debris of one of the broken pillars for handholds. Once on the other side, drop a light rope to the lower level to reach the Petank below.
You'll have to chase it around the floor first until it stops at the base of the stairs. From here, you can follow it deeper into the next area until it get stuck on the illuminated tile.
The Monolith
The Peteank inside the Monolith is found shortly after reaching the Tainted Cliffs Expedition Flag. Climb the spiral staircase and follow the path until you reach a group of Cultists. Next to them is the illuminated tile where you need to lure the Petank to.
The Petank itself is on the open area past the Cultists. However, you must take the narrow pathway on the other side of the illuminated tile and chase away the Petank from behind. Once it's near the tile, approach from the left so it runs to the direction where the tile is.
The Continent
After gaining the ability to fly with Esquie, you can find a Chromatic Petank at the mountain area northeast of the Stone Wave Cliffs Cave. You'll need to lead the Chromatic Petank south through the small lake and the narrow path surrounded by pillars.
Instead of the regular Petank rewards, the Chromatic Petank gives 2 Grandiose Chroma Catalysts, 5 Colours of Lumina, and the Anti-Stun Picto once its defeated.
Petank Rewards
Polished and Resplendent Chroma Catalysts
Defeating Petanks rewards you with Polished Chroma Catalysts and even Resplendent Chroma Catalysts in later areas. You can use these to upgrade weapons!
Colours of Lumina
You can also get Colour of Lumina by defeating Petanks. This can be used to increase your Lumina Points.
How to Use Colour of Lumina and Locations
Recoat
You can also obtain a Recoat by defeating Petanks. Use this to respec the attributes of any character you choose.
