The fate of the Canvas affects Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's ending. With this, you need to choose between Verso and Maelle. There are technically no good or bad endings, as that depends on your own views!

Fight as Maelle Ending
Fighting as Maelle and defeating Verso, on the other hand, forces Alicia to maintain her ideal life. Everyone she knows is alive as the epilogue rolls out, although in reality, it’s a fantasy and everything will eventually come to an end.

Fight as Verso Ending
Fighting as Verso and defeating Maelle triggers an ending where the world outside is forced to accept reality. In the epilogue, Alicia and her family visit Verso’s grave.
Just as Verso once watched his allies disappear, Alicia now watches her family vanish as well. This leaves her alone, forcing her to accept the reality of life.

Maelle Ending for More Rewards
The best ending is Maelle's Ending, as choosing this ending rewards the Civilian outfits for Lune and Sciel. This ending nets more rewards than Verso's Ending, whose only perk is the Renoir set for one character.
Both endings have their own prevailing philosophies, and some players may find one ending more agreeable than the other.
The choice is between letting go of a dream world to face uncertain reality, or abandoning reality to live out your fantasy. Let us know which ending you prefer in the comments!
Verso Ending for a Better Conclusion
Renoir's desire to destroy the Canvas to save his family from escapism led to the Gommage, and Aline's desire to preserve the last piece of Verso's existence led to the countdown. This countdown later became the purpose of the Expeditions, stemming from the belief that defeating the Paintress will end the Gommage.
Verso's Ending is likely the true ending as it brings an end to this entire conflict, breaking the Dessendre family's cycle of grief by facing the reality of loss. The story concludes for everyone, whether they're a citizen of the Canvas or a Painter from the outside.

Believe Verso is the best ending if Maella/Alicia comes back to repair the world of the Expedition (bring back the people gommaged). Hate to think the sacrifices of the Expedition people in painting world were vain. The game really reminds me of Star Ocean 3 Til The End of Time's big existential moment.
