Head Back to Lumiere and Expel Renoir from the Canvas

Act 3: Maelle Final Objective Guide
1
Once you've regained control of Maelle back in Lumiere, follow this familiar path to the main plaza. Approach the Curator for a cutscene.
2
Prepare your team back at the camp and interact with the bonfire when you're ready to leave. The "Go to sleep" option here will be replaced by Create the greatest expedition in history. Choose this option to progress the story.
3
Now, the expedition's final objective will officially be decided: Return to Lumiere and defeat Renoir.

Esquie will also regain his ability to fly, so you can just hop on Esquie and head south to where it all began.
4
Head straight and activate the Harbour Expedition Flag.
5
Climb the stairs and keep going straight until you reach the area with the stalls. Past these is a huge stump with a light rope hanging from above. Grab this rope to continue.
6
Turn left and use the grapple point on the other building to launch yourself to the other side.
7
Pass through the garden to find the Central Plaza Expedition Flag.
8
Follow the direction with the red lightning strikes and slide down the light rope to the plaza. Turn right and go to the other end of the alley before turning left to another plaza.
9
Take the path to your right to find the Shattered Alley Expedition Flag.
10
Continue walking through the alley and keep going straight past the Colour of Lumina item on the ground until you reach another open area.
11
Far to the top right, past the giant enemy, are a couple of grapple points that can launch you to where the opera house is.
12
Enter the opera house and go to the room with the piano phantom for the Opera House Expedition Flag.
13
Exit the opera house through the back door and grapple to the other platform ahead. There's another grapple point to your left, taking you to another area with Nevrons.
14
The path will split after the first group of Nevrons. Take either path and find the torn flag at the end. Past this spot is another grapple point that you can use to continue.
15
Go down the path, past the young boy, and through another grapple point.

You can find a Gestral merchant at the end of this path named Cribappa, whom you can purchase weapons from. The Full Strength Pictos will be added to the list if you win against Cribappa in a duel.
16
Continue the path to the left of Cribappa until you reach the Lumiere's Gardens Expedition Flag.
17
Make for the deformed Eiffel Tower and face the first boss of this Act, the Creation.
▶ How to Beat the Creation
18
There's the Crooked Tower Walkway Expedition Flag near the boss arena where you can rest up and prepare the party before you continue. This is the last Expedition Flag before the final boss, so you need to be fully ready.
19
Head to the direction of the Eiffel Tower and approach Renoir for the final boss fight.
▶ How to Beat Renoir
20
After the following cutscene, approach the painting child inside the Canvas for the last duel. You will have to choose who to fight as, and determine the story's ending.

Act 3: Maelle Boss Guides

How to Beat the Creation

Recommended Level: 37
Creation
Tips and Strategy
CheckmarkInflicts Inversion at the start

CheckmarkDo not attack the Void Orbs

The Creation opens the fight by inflicting Inversion on your entire party. This status effect disables all sources of healing, damaging you instead. You can remove it with cleansing skills like Verso's Purification.

This boss also levitates, creates Void Orbs, and stacks shields occasionally. The Void Orbs might look safe to pup with Aimed attacks, but doing so will deal damage to you. Let the Creation explode them itself and prepare to parry the blast.

How to Beat Renoir

Recommended Level: 40
Renoir
Tips and Strategy
CheckmarkMemorize its complex attack patterns

CheckmarkThe Hauler will attack the Expedition

The only thing you should be prepared for in the final boss fight is Renoir's wide array of attacks that are difficult to dodge and parry due to how complex each of them are. Be sure to memorize the timing of each hit whenever Renoir uses an attack to make it easier to counter next time.

Once Renoir's health drops to fifty percent during the first phase, he will summon the Axons to aid him. Visages will add shields, Reacher will apply buffs, and the Hauler will attack the Expedition, which may catch you off guard.

How Long Is Act 3?

Five to Seven Hours Long

The Curator in Act 3

Clair Obscur Act 3 is around 5-7 hours long. While the main story cutscenes don't take a while, the side quests and collectibles may take more of your time!

How to Unlock Challenge Modifiers

Unlock Act 3: Maelle

How to Enable Challenge Modifiers Main
Getting Act 3 unlocks a feature added with the 1.3.0 patch that allows Challenge Modifiers to be put into enemy stats or the player's damage cap to make combat more challenging.

Go to any Expeditionary Flag once you have unlocked Act 3 and find the Challenges button. Click on it to open up a menu to modify enemy HP values or your damage cap. These modifications can also be disabled on any Expeditionary Flag around The Continent if the player wants to turn them off.

We recommend finishing the main story first before altering enemy HP and damage cap values, as these mods are meant for endgame content and may cause issues for most players.
