How to Get Medalum

Use Maelle in the Last Gestral Arena Fight

Expedition 33 - Limonsol

To get Medalum, you'll need to use Maelle during the fourth and final solo fight in the Gestral Arena during Act I. The Gestral Arena can be found in the Gestral Village, which you can access after going through the Ancient Sanctuary area.

Talk to the village chief until you're asked to talk to Limonsol outside of the Arena and this will initiate a series of solo fights.

It's important to note that this is a very missable weapon early in the game, as you can only challenge the Gestral Arena fight once and the only way to get Medalum again is to beat Golgra.

Beat Golgra Using Maelle

Expedition 33 - Golgra

If you've already beaten the Gestral Arena without using Maelle, then the only other way you can get Medalum is by defeating the village chief, Golgra. You can challenge Golgra as soon as you talk to her after the Gestral Arena tournament.

While you can fight Golgra early on, It's not recommended until after Act II because you can only use one character to fight her and that you only have a limited a set amount of damage you can deal to her since Painted Power is only obtained after Act 2.

If you're determined to beat her early on, then you will need to parry all of her attacks as she's likely going to one-shot your characters. Once you beat her, you will be rewarded with Medalum. You can then continously challenge Golgra to a fight and you will get the Medalum everytime you defeat her.
