Located in The Monolith
The Chromatic Bourgeon is located in The Monolith. From the Tainted Waters Expedition Flag, stick to the western side of the area until you see a path leading through the seaweed on the left.
Follow this path and grapple across some gaps to find the area where the Chromatic Bourgeon is.

How to Beat Chromatic Bourgeon
- Chromatic Bourgeon Will Eat a Character
- Aim to Break the Chromatic Bourgeon
- Be Prepared for the Exhaust Status
Chromatic Bourgeon Eats a Character
The Chromatic Bourgeon will open the fight by randomly eating one of your playable characters, rendering them incapacitated while it has them ingested. This means that you will be limited to whoever is left behind.
Prepare for this by making sure that at least two of your characters are able to do damage, to avoid losing a chunk of your damage if you are only relying on one DPS character.
Aim to Break the Chromatic Bourgeon
Once the Chromatic Bourgeon swallows a character, you can force the boss to spit them out by breaking and stunning them. This will instantly have them release the trapped character, allowing you to fight at full capacity.
Be Prepared for the Exhaust Status
The Chromatic Bourgeon is also capable of inflicting the Exhaust status, which negates all AP gain. Counteract this with effects like Cleansing Tint, to remove the status if it hits a character.
Chromatic Bourgeon Attack Patterns
Miasma Spit
Chromatic Bourgeon spits miasma, launching projectiles at a single target 4 times. Dodge as each projectile is about halfway down from its flight arc.
4-Hit Combo
Chromatic Bourgeon performs a 4-Hit combo, attacking a single target 4 times. Dodge the initial head slam as it comes down, then dodge thrice in quick succession to avoid the slamming arm.
5-Hit Combo
Chromatic Bourgeon performs a 5-Hit combo, striking a single target 5 times. Dodge the first two hits in quick succession as the arm comes down, then dodge thrice in the row once its other arm starts to slam.
