Chromatic Hexga Location
Stone Wave Cliffs Cave
Chromatic Hexga can be found in the Stone Wave Cliffs Cave, east of Stone Wave Cliffs. Swim towards the eastern shore to find a beach with a Gestral on it. Land on the beach and head up the slope to find the entrance to the Stone Wave Cliffs Cave.
Note that swimming with Esquie is unavailable until the start of Act 2.
How to Beat Chromatic Hexga
Shoot the Crystal

Chromatic Hexga will stop taking damage once its crystal turns red. Use Free Aim to shoot the crystal until it changes color to remove its invulnerability.
Players can continue spending AP shooting the crystal until it breaks. This will stun Chromatic Hexga, giving players some breathing room to either dish out some damage or heal up.
Use AP Restoring Skills, Energy Tints, and Parry
The difficulty of the fight will fully revolve on paying attention to the crystal's color and keeping it from turning red. Players may run into AP management issues due to this mechanic, as each shot requires 1 AP to perform.
Use AP restoring skills such as Verso's Paradigm Shift or Lune's Thermal Transfer to mitigate the AP requirements of the fight, and use Energy Tints when necessary. Performing successful parries is preferred as well, as each successful parry restores 1 AP for the character.
Use Maelle's Breaking Rules Skill
Using Maelle's Breaking Rules skill to remove Chromatic Hexga's shields is key to winning the fight. The crystal will be unaffected by Free Aim shots—unless Piercing Shot is equipped—when its shields are up, further draining the party's AP, in addition to increasing the hit count of its Shield-Powered Combo.
It is recommended to conserve Maelle's AP to cast Breaking Rules whenever necessary. The additional AP gained from this skill can be used to shoot the crystal at a later turn as well, provided it did not start stacking its shields again.
