How to Upgrade Weapons
There are two ways you can upgrade your weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33:
Spend Chroma Catalysts

Weapons can be upgraded by spending Chroma Catalysts obtained from merchants, as loot, or as drops from enemies and bosses.
Speak to The Curator during Act 1 to upgrade weapons. From Act 2 onwards, weapons can be upgraded by selecting Upgrade Weapons at any Expedition Flag.
Acquire Duplicates
Obtaining duplicates of a weapon upgrades its level without using Chroma Catalysts. Duplicates can either be obtained as drops from enemies or bosses, or in New Game Plus.

Weapons with Desirable Passive Effects
Most weapons come with passive effects that only unlock when you reach certain upgrade levels. These passive effects can turn a good weapon into an even better one, so make sure to take these effects into account.
How to Unlock Weapon Upgrade
Defeat the Curator in the Manor
To unlock Weapon upgrades, you'll need to defeat the Curator as part of the main story once you've progressed through the Flying Waters area.
Find the Curator Back at Camp
Once defeated, The Curator will be located at your camp. Head back to your camp and find The Curator in a cave away from the bonfire. Talk to him and choose the option to upgrade your weapon.
