The Grosse Tete is an optional boss found right in front of the entrance to the Coastal Cave area. You'll need to unlock Esquie's ability to swim to reach this part of the Continent.

You can also find the Grosse Tete in the Flying Manor, in the area underneath where you fight the Dualliste.
Flying Manor 100% Guide and All Locations
If you've just unlocked Esquie's ability to swim and this is your first time encountering Grosse Tete, chances are your attacks won't do much damage to the boss.
To defeat Grosse Tete without over-leveling, you'll need to endure its seemingly endless bounces—dodging or parrying them—until it decides to explode by itself and give you its loot.
The number of Grosse Tete's bounces each time it attacks also increases the longer the battle goes on. During the first attack, the Grosse Tete will bounce two times, and the amount of bounces will increase by two per attack. After it performs an attack with 24 total bounces, the Grosse Tete will self-destruct.
The intervals of the drops also change randomly, making it harder to keep up without getting hit. The trick here is to wait until Grosse Tete starts falling back down and only press the dodge or parry button when it is about halfway to the ground, or when you hear the sound cue.
| Grosse Tete attacks by bouncing. | |
| How to Dodge | Dodge as it is on the way down, or when you hear the sound cue. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Parry when it is on the way down from a jump, or whenever you hear the sound cue. |

I had the "Heal by Parry" Pictos equiped for this Boss. Even if i missed some parry, i could heal myself up with this without any problem.
