Chromatic Petank Location

The Continent

Expedition 33 The Continent Petank
Like with all Petanks, they require to be guided to a certain Illuminated Tile where it serves to magnet the Petank in one position, allowing the player to approach it. This specific Petank requires Esquie's ability to fly before the player can reach it.

For Chromatic Petank, they require to be moved quite a distance away from their starting point to the northeast of Stone Wave Cliffs Cave, descending to the map and reaching a circular land area with an arch where the Petank stays.

From there, guide the Petank to reach water and circle it to approach a one-way path with pillars. The player will see a dead-end with a huge stone carving of a face where this Petank will be magnetized, ready to be engaged.

One-Shot Strategies

Chromatic Petank One-Shotting Techniques
This boss is an upgraded version of the regular Petank and follows the same moveset, except for the fact that it will not flee in a battle and will call for infinite Petank reinforcements.

The fight therefore will be pegged longer than usual if the Chromatic Petank gets buffs from the smaller Petanks, gets healed or attacks the player. Characters such as Maelle, Verso and Sciel have the capability and setup to build up damage and one-shot this boss, preventing the fight from prolonging.

To be able to dent the Chromatic Petank, the player must level their characters to at least 80 and accomplish the three main acts of the story. This boss is relatively simple, but the player is still advised to upgrade their characters to avoid extending the boss fight.

The Chromatic Petank gets healed by the smaller Petank reinforcements it calls for up to 300,000 HP once they flee, making the fight a slog to go through if it ever does heal. The Petanks will also provide 7 shields if left unchecked.

It is advised that the player either have area attacks or prepare a one-shot build against the Chromatic Petank. Do note that the player only needs to take down the Chromatic Petank itself to end the battle.

How to Parry and Counter

Petank Reinforcements

Chromatic Petank calls for random Petanks to join the battle, buffing, healing or attacking with the Chromatic Petank.
How to Dodge Dodge the regular Petanks shotgun projectiles and projectile throw.
How to Counter These Petanks will either attack the party, buff the Chromatic Petank with around 7 shields or flee after three turns and heal the boss with 300,000HP at max. Counter them by full parrying their attack strings or quickly eliminating them.

Shotgun Blast

Chromatic Petank does a melee-range shotgun blast to one party member.
How to Dodge Similar to regular Petanks, dodge when the charging animation is finished before the sound cue.
How to Counter Parry after the charge and right before the shotgun blast starts.

Ranged Combo

Chromatic Petank does a ranged 6-hit projectile combo towards party members.
How to Dodge Similar to regular Petanks, dodge six times when the shell reaches its highest arcing distance towards the party, just right before the projectile descends.
How to Counter Parry all six projectiles to successfully counter.
