Should You Attack Grown Bourgeon?

Do not attack the Grown Bourgeon after completing its quest to gain the opportunity to obtain a special reward later in the story.
Players will gain access to the The Fountain area in The Continent after gaining Esquie's ability to fly, where interacting with the NPC inside will award the players if these white Nevrons have been kept alive.
Attacking Grown Bourgeon Will Lead to a Boss Fight
Choosing to attack Grown Bourgeon will lead to a boss fight. Restore your health and update your attributes and skills at the nearby rest point before choosing this option.

Unlock the Aiding the Enemy achievement first before attacking Grown Bourgeon. This way, players can obtain the quest reward, trophy, and battle loot for maximum rewards.

Grown Bourgeon Quest Walkthrough
Defeat the Bourgeon in Flying Waters
Defeat the Bourgeon near the Lumieran Streets rest point in Flying Waters to obtain the Bourgeon Skin.
From the Expedition Flag, turn your back against the wide room and enter the narrow path between two buildings. Upon reaching the lamppost, turn left to find a path towards the Bourgeon. Defeat the enemy to acquire the Bourgeon Skin needed for the quest.
Head to The Small Bourgeon
Fast travel to the Flower Field rest point and exit Flying Waters past Goblu's boss room. Head west to find The Small Bourgeon area and speak to the NPC inside. Exhaust its dialogue until you can choose to give it the Bourgeon Skin.
Exit and re-enter the area to find the Grown Bourgeon, and speaking to it will cause it to spit a Colour of Lumina as a reward.
Players may speak to the Grown Bourgeon again and choose to attack it where its defeat will yield additional rewards.

Colour of Lumina
After assisting the Grown Bourgeon's growth, it will spit out an item for players to pick up as a reward. Collect the purple item to acquire a Colour of Lumina.

Polished Chroma Catalyst
After choosing to attack Grown Bourgeon, it will drop five Colours of Lumina and a Polished Chroma Catalyst upon winning the battle.

Fast travel to the Flower Field rest point and move past the Goblu boss area to exit Flying Waters. Upon entering the The Continent, head west to find the entrance to The Small Bourgeon.
