The Gargant is first encountered in Frozen Hearts as the final boss of this optional area. The player is advised to level their characters up first before returning as most of the enemies here are dangerous to players who have only recently finished Monoco's Station.
Frozen Hearts 100% Guide and All Locations

The Gargant can be found in The Monolith location. From the Tainted Hearts Expedition Flag, continue under the arch until you see a path branching off to the left. Take it to find the boss.

You will also find the Gargant inside the Endless Tower as the notable enemy for Stage 6, Trial 3. These bosses must be taken down to aid the expedition's ascension into the tower.

The Gargant has the gimmick of being able to switch stances between Fire and Ice, which affects what Element it is weak to, and what it absorbs. In either form, it absorbs the Element of its stance, and is weak to the other element.
Pay attention to the color of the visual effects surrounding Gargant's lower half. A red coloring indicates it's in its Fire stance, while blue instead means it's in its Ice stance.

Gargant may attempt to Freeze a single target with an ice beam, inflicting the status if the attack lands. This will make the affected character vulnerable to attacks as they cannot dodge or parry due to being Frozen.
Equip the Anti-Freeze Picto or Lumina, or run effects like Cleansing Tint to protect your characters from the status effect.
| Gargant throws even more punches, striking one character 6 times. | |
| How to Dodge | Dodge as soon as he starts swinging his first punch, and continue to dodge quickly for the next three hits. Then, wait for him to finish winding up before dodging the last two hits. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Parry all six strikes to counter. |

| Gargant yells, expelling a fiery projectile that hits once at a single target. | |
| How to Dodge | Dodge as the projectile nears your character, as it has a slow arc. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | This attack is usually applied on a Frozen character, and the attack cannot be countered normally this way. If the character is not Frozen, parry on the projectile's downward arc to counter. |
| Gargant tears up the field with his arms, attacking the entire party 4 times. | |
| How to Dodge | Wait for it to swing to dodge the first hit, then dodge the second and third hit quickly as they come in back to back. Then, wait for Gargant to start his slam to dodge the last attack. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Parry all attack strings to counter. |
| Gargant wreaks havoc, attacking with both arms for a total of 5 strikes towards the entire party. | |
| How to Dodge | Dodge five times when the arms are nearing contact with the party. The fourth attack has a delay and the fifth attack has the boss recover before striking. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Parry all five attack strings to perform a team counter. |
