Monoco Best Builds and Attributes

To unlock skills you must interact with a Rest Point. These are the expedition flags you can find scattered throughout the map or in your camp site. After interacting with a Rest Point, you must then select Learn Skills.

After entering the Learn Skills menu, you must then spend skill points to unlock skills. You get 1 skill point per level and you can save the points to unlock more expensive and powerful skills down the line.

If you want to pick different skills, but do not have the skill points to unlock them, you can spend a Recoat to refund all of your skill points. You can then redistribute them to your liking.
To spend a Recoat, go to a Rest Point and select Learn Skills like you would when unlocking skills. Afterward, press and hold the button shown under "Consume to reset tree".

To make a skill available for unlocking, you must first learn any of the skills connected to it.
For example, if you want to unlock Maelle's Guard Down skill, you can do so by learning either Degagement to its left or Guard Up to its right.
