The first instance of Chromatic Bruler is located in The Continent explored during Act 1: Gustave near Yellow Harvest and Gestral Village's exit. The boss is extremely dangerous in the early game and the player is advised to finish Act 1 first before re-engaging.

The boss can also be encountered in Endless Tower at Stage 7, Trial 2, being more difficult than the original version as it is paired with a Chromatic Gold Chevaliere and Aberration that the player must defeat to move forward.

One of the most glaring advantages the player has against the Chromatic Bruler is its' own moveset. One of the easier to read moves of the boss requires the player to jump dodge three times to avoid getting hit.
Successfully countering this move paired with an Ice element weapon deals a significant amount of counter damage to the boss. Should it repeat this move, it will actually be easier for the player to just jump counter!

Aside from the boss having a glowing core that can easily chunk out its' health, this flavor of Bruler is weak to ice attacks so the player is advised to exploit the weakness.

This boss is notable for only having two moves to counter that are easy to remember and take advantage of despite them being hard-hitters.
The first move, a spin-and-smash combo, has 5 attack strings that are slightly delayed to trick the player into dodging early. The second move is a Shockwave Smash that only requires the player to jump counter three times.
| Chromatic Bruler attacks with a 5-hit spin and smash combo. | |
| How to Dodge | Wait for the initial animation windup before the boss spins, dodge four times quickly then follow with a timed dodge on the last attack. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Parry all attack swings to counter. Time the 5th attack as it is slightly delayed. |
| The boss smashes its' weapon three times, sending shockwaves that damage the entire party. | |
| How to Dodge | Dodge all attacks by jump dodging. |
|---|---|
| How to Counter | Counter Jump for three times whenever a prompt appears. |
