    This still works with some tweaks. Put Cheater on Monoco to have him play twice, his first turn uses Cruler Barrier to add shields to Maelle, his second turn uses Chapelier Slash to do damage to Simon, but more importantly add a Mark. Load Monoco up with loads of lumina that buff damage and AP generation, and Marking Shots as a last resort in case you can't get Chapelier Slash off. I got 66,202,981 damage from Maelle/Stendhal using this strategy, after buffing with Sciel as mentioned originally.

    I just beat base game Simon with this build. I had to do it a few times to get luck on my side. The Monoco part seems like outdated advice as it is impossible to break in one go with breaking death nerfed. Despite this it eventually worked. I played on story mode, not sure if that affected his HP. I just wanted the dang trophy.

    And today it worked! Not sure why, the only thing I did different was using Monoco to mark Simon instead of try to break him (which wasn't working anyway).

    similar problem here. Phase 1 went fine. But in phase 2, despite sciel using Intervention, Simon acts and steals shields before Maelle can use Stendal.

    I still get Simon acting before Maelle can Stendahl, stealing my shields in both phases. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

    Wow the cheese strat is so strong you don't even need a third party member. Just Maelle and Sciel is plenty. Kinda regret doing the cheese TBH. Tried to tone it down after and do it normally but my Maelle was so juiced it was still trivial.

    THANK YOU. This works like a charm. I only had First Strike on Sciel like the article suggests but that messed up the play order. I guess bc he has high agility? The strat worked perfectly fine on other enemies

    make sure you have first strike equipped on all 3 to make all 3 have their own turn before simon can attack

    cheese strat still works just use something like barrier breaker since its scaling is really good you wont reach as high a damage as with medallum but with roulette you can probably hit 270M or something which should be enough to kill Simon

    If you have Auto Death + Breaking Death on someone on the team (like Sciel in the cheese strat), it will trigger in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 (the game treats them as two separate fights). Add Second Chance on her and you can do the cheese start on both phases

    How is Monoco supposed to break Simon if his break bar is still empty at the beginning of Phase 2? Something about the strat doesn't make sense...
