Pokémon Winds and Waves Overview
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are the upcoming mainline entries to Game Freak’s long-spanning series, set to release on 2027 simultaneously worldwide for the Nintendo Switch 2. Much like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the games feature open-world exploration, and players will have a different outfit depending on the version they are playing in.
Set in a tropical archipelago, players will take on the role of trainers who catch and battle with Pokémon. From the depths of the sea to volcanic caverns, from lush forests to dense swamps, these mysterious creatures populate the land, waiting to be encountered.
Winds and Waves are the first pair of tenth-generation games in the series and are set to introduce a new region and roster of Pokémon. Brand-new starters who will accompany trainers at the start of their journey, Browt, Gecqua, and Pombon, are the first to be revealed.

Pokémon Winds and Waves Gameplay
Pokémon Winds and Waves are RPG games where players will find and catch creatures in their habitat, which they can call out to battle. While mainline games often pushed players towards the goal of traveling across the region to compete in the Pokémon League challenge, it is still unknown if Winds and Waves will follow this formula.
