During the early game, make sure to get the Treasure Hunter perk. This rewards you with bonus bits or crafting materials when searching containers. The perk also only costs 1 Perk Point, making it a must-have at the start of your journey.

Once you reach Eden, find Commander Torres to unlock the A Sprat to Die For side quest. Completing this quest rewards you with the Scrabbles perk, which grants you +5% Bits when opening containers. This perk can also be stacked with the Treasure Hunter perk for even greater yield!
Just note that A Sprat to Die For is a missable quest. If you leave Eden without talking to Commander Torres, you won’t be able to start it. Make sure to complete the quest as soon as you land on the planet.

Specialize and improve your Speech skill. Investing in this skill lets you unlock perks that affect sell value and reduce vendor prices, such as Palm Greaser and Wholesale Spender.
Speech is also a great skill to specialize in overall, as it allows you to better influence others in conversations, intimidate opponents, and gain more reputation with factions.
If you have Speech Level 4, you can get the Wholesale Relationship perk, which allows you to upgrade all of the vendors you run into. Doing so decreases their item prices by -10%, while also increasing the amount of money you get when selling to them by +20%.

If you purchased the Premium Edition, the exclusive weapons and armor also come with bonus Bits. Complete the game’s prologue, A Cause Worth Killing For, to claim the Premium Edition items.
How to Claim Premium Edition Items

Bits are the main currency in the Arcadia colonies in The Outer Worlds 2, just like in the Halcyon system from the first game. They can be looted from containers and corpses, or earned as rewards for completing quests.
