Outer Worlds 2 Workbench

Interact with a Workbench and select Crafting to start making items from your available recipes. You can craft ammo, mods, grenades, primers, and more using the crafting materials you’ve gathered.

Access Niles' Workbench

Outer Worlds 2 Companion Crafting

If you have Niles as a Companion, you can use his Field Tinkering ability so he can let you use his Workbench. This is especially useful for crafting resources when you’re far from any services.

Outer Worlds 2 Loot Crafting Materials

Crafting materials can commonly be found in containers and even on corpses. They come in various forms such as cloth, canisters, and metal.

Breakdown Junk and Old Equipment

Outer Worlds 2 Breakdown

When using a Workbench, you can also go to the Breakdown section and select junk or old equipment to turn into crafting materials. The rarer the item, the more materials you’ll get.

Get the Treasure Hunter Perk

Outer Worlds 2 Treasure Hunter

To increase your yield of crafting materials, make sure to get the Treasure Hunter perk. This rewards you with bonus crafting materials or Bits when searching containers. The perk also only costs 1 Perk Point, making it a must-have during the early game.
